It's about time...already!

Lua and friends

Hi all, back again. Time does fly. Just got done with the first of three shows. (I have a part in one number. The show is Lua Hadar's "It's about time, already!" and the show is WONDERFUL. Lua is so good...in the songs she has picked, the story line she uses and the genuine and heartfelt way she presents the show. I was just blown away by her show. It is inspiring. It is what I envision performance is all about. Sharing a piece of yourself and truly giving an experience to the audience that is uniquely and intimately your own with them.

I am in a comedy number with two other singers and we back Lua up as her "wise" men in a Jewish perspective on the Madeleine Kahn number from Blazing Saddles "I'm Tired". It is loads of fun and the audience really liked it. This show was at the Purple Onion in SF, the place of my last showcase, "Labyrinth of Love". (See www.luahadar.com for dates and locations of the next two local shows.)

Diane and AndreaAlso, sang with good friend, Diane Olsen, at her daughter's wedding the song "In my daughter's eyes" a few weekends ago. That was really special. Diane did the ultimate and sang the song with me. A great way to immortalize the moment for her daughter. It was great! Very proud of her that she did that and overcame her fear of getting up there long enough to do it. Bravo, Diane!

Am back at my Tuesday nite acting for singers class as of last week. So glad to be back there. It is keeping me connected with my art, my passion. It means alot. I really missed the class, the people, the work.

Have been interviewing for jobs as well. Have been some interesting developments. I am realizing that what I have written in this blog may have resulted in me not getting a job or two, but so be it.

The fact is that I am a valuable asset to any organization. The value that I contribute to whatever project I commit to is enhanced by my contribution, whether or not my passion is to perform and I continue to follow that dream. The fact is it is due to that passion that I would be a tremendous asset to have in any organization. The key to success in anything you do is the ability to create strong and lasting relationships that are built on trust and integrity.

I will find that work that will stabilize me and allow me to flourish and grow and contribute. I won't have to dodge questions about my passion to perform (act, sing, dance). My employer will have the foresight to see what an asset that is to have in an employee in addition to the experience and characteristics that I bring to the workplace and not look at it as a threat to my focus and attention I give the organization.

Enough now.

It is now the 4th Quarter of this year and I am pressed to take stock in what I have accomplished this year and what I still want to accomplish in this final quarter before 2006 rolls in. This is what I want to still accomplish and get started on...

1. I want to find and secure that job/career position that will fullfill my financial requirement for stability and my need to be creative and contributive to others, making a difference. (Target Nov 1, 05)

2. I want to create my cabaret show to be performed at the Plush Room and other reputible locales and work on getting a cd ready. (Target Dec 31, 05)

3. I want to create and and execute a consistent physical exercise routine including stretching, weight training, yoga, meditation, & aerobic exercise to create peak, optimal fitness, condition and health in my life. (Target Oct 28, 05)

4. I want to create and maintain a beautiful, nurturing environment in my home to enjoy and experience on a daily basis. (Target Oct 31, 05)

5. I want to develop a foundation for my life coaching business to get it up and running by (Target Dec 31, 05).

6. I want to put focus on a primary love relationship to nurture and grow it healthfully throughout the 4th qtr and beyond.

7. I want to put appropriate focus on the close circle of friends and acquaintances to synergistically create success for each other throughout the 4th qtr and beyond.

It's about time....already!
